Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of ice
- 1 cup of fresh lime juice (about 8–10 limes)
- 1/2 cup of tequila (preferably silver)
- 1/4 cup of orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
- 1/4 cup of simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Salt for rimming glasses (optional)
- Lime wedges for garnish
Instructions
- Roll the limes on a countertop to release their juices. Cut in half and use a juicer to extract 1 cup of fresh lime juice (about 8-10 limes).
- Combine equal parts sugar and water (1/4 cup each) in a saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring until sugar dissolves. Let cool and store any leftovers in the fridge.
- Ensure your blender is clean and ready. Have a measuring cup and jigger handy.
- In the blender, combine 2 cups of ice, 1 cup of lime juice, 1/2 cup of tequila, 1/4 cup of orange liqueur, and 1/4 cup of simple syrup. Adjust sweetness with more syrup if desired.
- Blend on high until smooth and slushy (about 30-45 seconds). Adjust thickness by adding more lime juice or water if too thick, or more ice if too thin.
- Taste the margarita and adjust sweetness or tanginess by adding more simple syrup or lime juice as needed.
- For a salted rim, run a lime wedge around the rim of each glass.
- Pour salt onto a plate, invert the glass, and dip the rim into the salt, twisting for an even coating.
- Pour the blended margarita into the prepared glasses, filling them to the brim or leaving space for garnish.
- Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim of each glass. Add a straw or cocktail umbrella for a festive touch.
- Sit back, sip your delicious frozen margarita, and enjoy the refreshing flavors!
Notes
- Choose a good quality silver tequila for the best flavor.
- Feel free to experiment with fresh fruits like strawberries or mangoes for a fruity twist.
- Adjust the consistency by adding lime juice or water if too thick, or more ice if too thin.
- Store any leftover margarita in the fridge for a short time.
