- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined.
- Add the melted butter to the banana mixture and stir until fully incorporated.
- Crack in the egg and pour in the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. The dough should be thick and slightly sticky.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Mix until well blended.
- Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough into a tight log, starting from one end and rolling towards the other.
- Cut the log into 1-inch thick slices using a sharp knife or dental floss.
- Place the sliced rolls into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, leaving space between each roll.
- Cover the baking dish with a clean kitchen towel and let the rolls rise in a warm place for about 30-45 minutes.
- While the rolls are rising, prepare the cream cheese glaze by beating together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Once the rolls have risen, bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- If they start to brown too quickly, cover loosely with aluminum foil.
