  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 24-30 bites 1x

Description

Flaky pie crust bites filled with creamy Brie and sweet-tart cranberry sauce. Perfect for holiday parties and gatherings!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
  • 8 ounces Brie cheese, cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Using a 2-inch round cookie cutter (or a glass with a 2-inch diameter), cut out circles from the pie crusts.
  4. Place the pie crust circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  5. Place a cube of Brie cheese in the center of each pie crust circle.
  6. Top the Brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
  7. If using, sprinkle a few chopped pecans or walnuts over the cranberry sauce.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.
  9. Brush the edges of each pie crust circle with the egg wash.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the Brie is melted and slightly gooey.
  11. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a serving platter.
  12. Optional: Drizzle with honey or maple syrup for a touch of sweetness.
  13. Optional: Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs for a festive look.
  14. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Cheese Variations: Try Camembert, goat cheese, or sharp cheddar instead of Brie.
  • Filling Variations: Use apple butter, fig jam, or pesto instead of cranberry sauce.
  • Everything Bagel Seasoning: Add a sprinkle for a savory touch.
  • Make Ahead: Assemble ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake (add a few minutes to baking time).
  • Puff Pastry: Use puff pastry for an even flakier crust.
  • Serving Suggestions: Perfect for holiday parties, appetizers, game day gatherings, or potlucks. Pairs well with sparkling wine, white wine, cranberry juice, or sparkling cider.
