Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts
- 8 ounces Brie cheese, cut into ½-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce (canned or homemade)
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
- Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface.
- Using a 2-inch round cookie cutter (or a glass with a 2-inch diameter), cut out circles from the pie crusts.
- Place the pie crust circles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Place a cube of Brie cheese in the center of each pie crust circle.
- Top the Brie with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce.
- If using, sprinkle a few chopped pecans or walnuts over the cranberry sauce.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water to create an egg wash.
- Brush the edges of each pie crust circle with the egg wash.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the Brie is melted and slightly gooey.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring to a serving platter.
- Optional: Drizzle with honey or maple syrup for a touch of sweetness.
- Optional: Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs for a festive look.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Cheese Variations: Try Camembert, goat cheese, or sharp cheddar instead of Brie.
- Filling Variations: Use apple butter, fig jam, or pesto instead of cranberry sauce.
- Everything Bagel Seasoning: Add a sprinkle for a savory touch.
- Make Ahead: Assemble ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake (add a few minutes to baking time).
- Puff Pastry: Use puff pastry for an even flakier crust.
- Serving Suggestions: Perfect for holiday parties, appetizers, game day gatherings, or potlucks. Pairs well with sparkling wine, white wine, cranberry juice, or sparkling cider.
