  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 85 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

These Crispy Greek Chicken Tenders are marinated in a zesty blend of Greek yogurt and spices, then coated in crunchy breadcrumbs and baked until golden. Juicy and flavorful, they make a perfect meal or snack, especially when served with your favorite dipping sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Cooking spray or additional olive oil for baking

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken tenders in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken tenders, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated. Use your hands to mix well.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to overnight for enhanced flavor).
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  6. In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese. Mix until well combined.
  7. Remove the marinated chicken from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes.
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
  9. Dip each marinated chicken tender into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure adherence. Shake off excess breadcrumbs and place on the baking sheet.
  10. Lightly spray the tops of the chicken tenders with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and crispy (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
  12. Flip the chicken tenders halfway through baking for even cooking.
  13. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  14. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces, such as tzatziki, honey mustard, or spicy aioli. Pair with a fresh Greek salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
  15. If you have leftovers, let the chicken tenders cool completely before storing in an airtight container. They can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  16. To reheat, place them in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-15 minutes until warmed through.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding fresh herbs like parsley or dill to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Adjust the spices according to your taste preference; feel free to add a pinch of cayenne for heat.
