Description

Indulge in the delightful combination of fresh strawberries and rich chocolate with this easy recipe for chocolate-covered strawberries. Dipped in dark chocolate and drizzled with white chocolate, these treats are not only delicious but also visually stunning, perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, preferably large and ripe
  • 8 ounces high-quality dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 4 ounces white chocolate
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother chocolate)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, for added flavor)
  • Sprinkles or edible glitter (for decoration, optional)
  • Parchment paper (for cooling)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the strawberries gently under cold water, avoiding soaking.
  2. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towels until completely dry.
  3. Place the strawberries on a plate or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. For the double boiler method, fill a medium saucepan with about an inch of water and bring it to a simmer.
  5. In a heatproof bowl, add the dark chocolate and coconut oil (if using).
  6. Place the bowl over the simmering water, stirring occasionally until melted and smooth (about 5-7 minutes).
  7. For the microwave method, heat the dark chocolate and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted.
  8. Stir in the vanilla extract (if using) once melted.
  9. Repeat the melting process for the white chocolate in a separate bowl.
  10. Dip each strawberry by the green stem into the melted dark chocolate, swirling to coat.
  11. Allow excess chocolate to drip off and place on the parchment-lined plate.
  12. While the dark chocolate is still wet, sprinkle with edible glitter or sprinkles if desired.
  13. Drizzle melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate-covered strawberries using a fork or piping bag.
  14. Optionally, dip some strawberries halfway in white chocolate before drizzling with dark chocolate.
  15. Refrigerate the plate of chocolate-covered strawberries for about 30 minutes until the chocolate hardens.
  16. Alternatively, place them in the freezer for 10-15 minutes, watching closely to prevent freezing.
  17. Carefully remove the strawberries from the parchment paper and arrange them on a serving platter.
  18. Serve fresh and enjoy! Best consumed within a day or two.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing.
  • Feel free to customize the toppings with different sprinkles or nuts for added texture.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
