Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 4 Passion Tea bags (recommended: Tazo Passion Tea)
- 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 4 cups cold water (for dilution)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh lemon slices (for garnish)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 Passion Tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
- Remove tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar while the tea is warm to ensure complete dissolution. Adjust sugar to taste.
- Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Roll the lemons on a countertop with your palm to release juices.
- Cut lemons in half and use a citrus juicer to extract about 1 cup of juice, straining out seeds and pulp if desired.
- In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice with 4 cups of cold water. Stir well and adjust sweetness if necessary.
- Once the tea is chilled, pour it into the pitcher with the lemonade mixture.
- Stir gently to combine and taste. Adjust tartness or sweetness as needed.
- Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the iced passion tea lemonade over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
- Garnish with a slice of lemon and fresh mint leaves. Optionally, add whole berries or edible flowers for decoration.
- Transfer any leftovers to a sealed container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Stir before serving again and consider refreshing flavors with additional lemon juice or sugar.
Notes
- For a less sweet drink, reduce the sugar to ¾ cup or less.
- Feel free to experiment with other fruits or herbs for unique flavor variations.
