  • Author: Dottie
  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings (about 2 quarts) 1x

Description

This Iced Passion Tea Lemonade is a delightful blend of vibrant passion tea and zesty lemonade, perfect for hot days. With its refreshing balance of sweetness and tartness, it’s an ideal drink for gatherings or a relaxing afternoon at home. Enjoy it over ice, garnished with fresh lemon slices and mint leaves for an extra touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 Passion Tea bags (recommended: Tazo Passion Tea)
  • 1 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 4 cups cold water (for dilution)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh lemon slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add the 4 Passion Tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, adjusting steeping time for desired strength.
  3. Remove tea bags and stir in 1 cup of sugar while the tea is warm to ensure complete dissolution. Adjust sugar to taste.
  4. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Roll the lemons on a countertop with your palm to release juices.
  6. Cut lemons in half and use a citrus juicer to extract about 1 cup of juice, straining out seeds and pulp if desired.
  7. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice with 4 cups of cold water. Stir well and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  8. Once the tea is chilled, pour it into the pitcher with the lemonade mixture.
  9. Stir gently to combine and taste. Adjust tartness or sweetness as needed.
  10. Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
  11. Pour the iced passion tea lemonade over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full.
  12. Garnish with a slice of lemon and fresh mint leaves. Optionally, add whole berries or edible flowers for decoration.
  13. Transfer any leftovers to a sealed container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  14. Stir before serving again and consider refreshing flavors with additional lemon juice or sugar.

Notes

  • For a less sweet drink, reduce the sugar to ¾ cup or less.
  • Feel free to experiment with other fruits or herbs for unique flavor variations.
