- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium-sized pot, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil.
- Remove the boiling water from heat and add the 4 tea bags. Let steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your preferred strength.
- Remove the tea bags and stir in 1/2 cup of sugar while the tea is still warm to ensure it dissolves completely. Adjust sugar to taste.
- Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Peel and dice the ripe mango into small pieces.
- Blend the diced mango until smooth. For a chunkier texture, blend less.
- Mix in 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice to the mango puree and blend briefly to combine.
- In a large pitcher, combine the cooled tea and mango puree. Stir well to incorporate.
- Taste the mixture and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed with more sugar or lime juice.
- Fill tall glasses with ice cubes.
- Pour the mango iced tea over the ice-filled glasses.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
- Serve the mango iced tea right away while cold.
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, stirring before serving.
- Pour over fresh ice and garnish again if desired.
Notes
- Experiment with different types of tea, such as green or herbal tea, for unique flavors.
- You can add other fruits like pineapple or peach to the mango puree for a tropical twist.
