This Pumpkin Cream Cheese Bread is a moist and flavorful treat, perfect for fall. With a rich cream cheese base and warm spices, it’s a delightful addition to your breakfast or snack time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (canned or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and butter. Beat until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and beat until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Fold in the pumpkin puree until well combined.
  6. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  8. If using, fold in the nuts or chocolate chips gently.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  11. Let the bread cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  12. Slice and serve, optionally with extra cream cheese spread on top.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute the nuts with your favorite mix-ins, such as dried cranberries or raisins.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled to make two loaves if you want to share or freeze one for later.
  • For a spicier flavor, consider adding a pinch of cloves or allspice to the dry ingredients.
