Rose Vanilla Latte: A Delicious & Easy Recipe

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving 1x

Description

A fragrant and comforting Rose Vanilla Latte, perfect for a cozy treat. Made with coffee or espresso, rose syrup, and steamed milk, it’s a delightful twist on a classic latte.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy, I prefer oat milk!)
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee or 2 shots of espresso
  • 1 tablespoon rose syrup (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Whipped cream, rose petals for garnish
  • Optional: A pinch of edible rose gold shimmer powder
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup dried culinary rose petals (make sure they are culinary grade!)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, helps prevent crystallization)

Instructions

  1. Combine Water and Sugar: In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar.
  2. Heat and Dissolve: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Add Rose Petals: Once the sugar is dissolved, add the dried rose petals to the saucepan.
  4. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the syrup has thickened slightly and the rose petals have infused their flavor. The syrup should coat the back of a spoon.
  5. Strain: Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the syrup cool slightly. Then, strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the rose petals. Discard the petals.
  6. Add Lemon Juice (Optional): If using, stir in the lemon juice.
  7. Store: Pour the rose syrup into a clean, airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  8. Add Syrup and Vanilla: Pour rose syrup and vanilla extract into your mug.
  9. Pour in Coffee/Espresso: Pour coffee/espresso over the syrup and vanilla.
  10. Add Milk: Gently pour steamed/frothed milk into the mug, holding back the foam.
  11. Spoon on Foam: Spoon remaining foam on top.
  12. Garnish (Optional): Garnish with whipped cream, rose gold shimmer, and rose petals.
  13. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Iced Rose Vanilla Latte: Combine rose syrup, vanilla, and coffee/espresso in a glass with ice. Top with cold milk.
  • Rose Vanilla Cold Foam: Whisk heavy cream, rose syrup, and vanilla until soft peaks form. Top iced latte.
  • Rose Vanilla Mocha: Add cocoa powder to the coffee/espresso.
  • Rose Water: Add a few drops of rose water for a more intense flavor.
  • Sweetener Alternatives: Substitute sugar in the rose syrup with honey, agave, or maple syrup.
  • Spice it Up: Add cardamom or cinnamon to the coffee grounds.
  • Vegan Option: Use plant-based milk and vegan whipped cream.
