Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini: The Ultimate Cocktail Recipe

  • Total Time: 120 minutes
  • Yield: 1 Martini 1x

Description

Refreshing Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini with homemade strawberry puree, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 4 ounces vodka (good quality is recommended!)
  • 2 ounces lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 ounce Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
  • 1 ounce strawberry puree (from above)
  • ½ ounce simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon wedge
  • Granulated sugar (for rimming the glass)
  • Fresh strawberry, sliced

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberry Puree: Rinse and hull strawberries. Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth (1-2 minutes). Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for extra smoothness (optional). Chill for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Martini Glass: Pour sugar onto a small plate. Moisten the rim of a martini glass with a lemon wedge. Press the rim into the sugar to coat. Chill the glass in the freezer for a few minutes.
  3. Mix the Martini: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, lemon juice, Cointreau, strawberry puree, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
  4. Serve and Garnish: Remove the chilled martini glass from the freezer. Strain the martini into the glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a fresh strawberry slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup to taste.
  • If fresh strawberries are not in season, you can use frozen strawberries to make the puree. Thaw slightly before blending.
  • For a sparkling martini, add a splash of Prosecco or other sparkling wine before serving.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the vodka with sparkling water or club soda.
  • For an extra layer of strawberry flavor, infuse your vodka with fresh strawberries for a few days before making the martini.
