Description
Refreshing Strawberry Lemon Drop Martini with homemade strawberry puree, perfect for special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 4 ounces vodka (good quality is recommended!)
- 2 ounces lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 ounce Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)
- 1 ounce strawberry puree (from above)
- ½ ounce simple syrup (adjust to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon wedge
- Granulated sugar (for rimming the glass)
- Fresh strawberry, sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberry Puree: Rinse and hull strawberries. Combine strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth (1-2 minutes). Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for extra smoothness (optional). Chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the Martini Glass: Pour sugar onto a small plate. Moisten the rim of a martini glass with a lemon wedge. Press the rim into the sugar to coat. Chill the glass in the freezer for a few minutes.
- Mix the Martini: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add vodka, lemon juice, Cointreau, strawberry puree, and simple syrup. Shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds.
- Serve and Garnish: Remove the chilled martini glass from the freezer. Strain the martini into the glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge and a fresh strawberry slice. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup to taste.
- If fresh strawberries are not in season, you can use frozen strawberries to make the puree. Thaw slightly before blending.
- For a sparkling martini, add a splash of Prosecco or other sparkling wine before serving.
- For a non-alcoholic version, substitute the vodka with sparkling water or club soda.
- For an extra layer of strawberry flavor, infuse your vodka with fresh strawberries for a few days before making the martini.
